Jewelry Design
One of my favorite things to design and draft is jewelry due to the symmetrical and concentric nature of rings and necklaces. Some day, I may even be able to make my designs a reality and cast them at my local workshop.
Acrostic Ring Design
Acrostic Jewelry is a type of jewelry design that was popular in the Georgian and Victorian eras and contains a hidden message within its design. The first letter of each gemstone spells out the hidden message. Two of the most common hidden designs used gems such as Rubies, Emeralds, and Diamonds to spell out “Regards” or “Dearest”. I decided to try my hand at creating an acrostic ring with my own hidden meaning. This ring uses Ruby, Emeralds, Iolite, Hematite, and Morganite(not in that order). See if you can find the hidden meaning!

Reversible Ring Design
Reversible Rings are a type of jewelry design that has gemstones set on both sides of the bezel and can by flipped. The ring can be reversed by rotating the two attached shanks and placing one above the other when putting it on. The moving components are very simple to design and mostly just involve two separate bars inside the Gallery/Bridge of the ring. The only real constraint was making sure the height of the gems and the internal rails didn’t conflict and that the height of the shanks would clear the height of the gallery when flipped in either direction.
